She'll Stay

She was the sun in my darkened world. I let her in and she burned my soul.
Little by little she took my heart. Before I noticed I'd lost control.
I thought that I couldn't live without her. I gave her the throne and the crown.
She led me down this pit of sorrow, but she didn't follow me down.

I can't say things I want to say; What if she walks away?
If I'm quiet then she'll stay. I'll try to get through today.

She says with her my life has meaning. She says I can't make it on my own.
At times I think that I could leave her, but being a slave's better than being alone.
What if I can't find love again? Maybe pain's the price I pay. Maybe I don't deserve happiness.
It hurts more to leave than to stay.

I can't say things I want to say; What if she walks away?
If I'm quiet then she'll stay. I'll try to get through today.

I've decided I want my life back.
I was better off without you.
Take this pain away from me.
